Vinh Tan International Port Reaches 2 Million Tons of Cargo Throughput

On October 17, 2025, Vinh Tan International Port reached a significant milestone of 2 million tons of cargo throughput. The achievement reflects the port’s growing operational capacity while creating favorable conditions to support import and export activities across Vietnam’s South Central Coast, Central Highlands, and neighboring provinces.

A New Milestone in Port Operations

Vinh Tan International Port is a project developed by Pacific Ocean Group with a total investment of more than VND 2.2 trillion. Covering approximately 165 hectares, the port features two berths capable of accommodating vessels of up to 50,000 DWT and one berth for vessels of up to 100,000 DWT, with a designed annual handling capacity of approximately 8 million tons of cargo.

Today, the port supports the import and export of general cargo, industrial cargo, and a wide range of other commodities serving the South Central Coast, Central Highlands, and surrounding regions. Reaching the 2-million-ton throughput milestone marks an important step forward in the port’s operational development, encompassing vessel reception, cargo handling, and cargo movement.

For logistics providers, this milestone demonstrates the port infrastructure’s growing capability to accommodate a diverse range of cargo, particularly industrial cargo, project cargo, and shipments requiring complex operational coordination.

Strengthening Regional Logistics Capacity

Within the supply chain, seaports play a vital role in connecting ocean shipping with inland transportation, warehousing, customs clearance, and downstream logistics services. As port operations continue to expand, businesses are better positioned to optimize transportation planning, reduce cargo handling time, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.

For Vietnam’s South Central Coast and Central Highlands, the continued development of Vinh Tan International Port enhances regional logistics capacity by supporting import and export activities, facilitating the movement of raw materials and equipment, and improving cargo transportation for manufacturing and industrial production. It also provides a stronger foundation for handling time-sensitive, high-value, and operationally complex shipments.

Connecting Port Infrastructure with Logistics Services

The 2-million-ton cargo throughput milestone also creates new opportunities to expand logistics activities across the region. Built on the strategic partnership between Vantage Logistics Corporation and Pacific Ocean Group, Vinh Tan Logistics Corporation (VTLC) was established to develop an integrated logistics center closely connected with the port’s infrastructure.

This strategic advantage enables VTLC to seamlessly integrate port services with international freight forwarding, domestic transportation, customs brokerage, and end-to-end logistics solutions. As a result, the company is well positioned to support the transportation and supply chain requirements of customers in Binh Thuan Province, the South Central Coast, the Central Highlands, and neighboring regions.
