Vinh Tan International Port Releases 2025 Environmental Protection Report

On January 9, 2026, Vinh Tan International Port Joint Stock Company (VTIP) formally submitted Report No. 17/BC-VTIP to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Lam Dong Province regarding environmental protection performance in 2025. The report highlights an exceptional operating year marked by record-breaking cargo throughput alongside comprehensive environmental compliance.

Key Milestones in 2025:

• Breakthrough Growth in Cargo Handling: Total cargo throughput in 2025 reached 2,500,000 tons (nearly doubling the 1,271,000 tons recorded in 2024), covering a diverse range of bulk and general cargoes: dry/conditioned fly ash, bottom ash, cement, bulk/bagged salt, minerals, construction aggregate, and steel products
• 100% Environmental Monitoring Compliance:
  • Optimal Dust Control for Bulk Cargoes: 06 baghouse dust filtration systems installed across the fly ash and cement export silos operated reliably, keeping total suspended particulates (TSP) below  – well under the regulatory threshold of  under QCVN 19:2009/BTNMT
  • Wastewater & Marine Environment Safety: The industrial wastewater treatment plant ( capacity) effectively treated oily runoff and domestic wastewater to Column A standards. Seawater quality and sediment within navigation channels remained in their natural state with no recorded adverse impacts
• Operational Safety & Incident Prevention: In 2025, the port recorded zero environmental incidents and zero oil spills. VTIP also conducted 02 large-scale oil spill response field drills in June and October 2025 involving 22 core response team members and specialized recovery equipment
• Closed-Loop Waste Management: Domestic solid waste (22.39 tons), non-hazardous industrial waste (226 kg), and hazardous waste (1.881 kg) were systematically segregated, stored in compliant storage facilities, and transferred to licensed treatment partners in full compliance with regulations
